ORIGINS & FOUNDER
For founder Marisa Marie, the story began long before Aura Marie Swim existed.
From a young age, swimwear was her language—playful, expressive, and deeply tied to her identity. Childhood trips to Puerto Rico, her father’s homeland, shaped her earliest understanding of beauty: bright shores, warm culture, and the joy of being surrounded by nature. These moments made swimwear feel like more than clothing; it became a memory, a feeling, a home.
Guided by that lifelong passion, Marisa Marie earned a BA in Merchandising & Marketing at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, where she developed a keen understanding of product, strategy, and the business of fashion. She now works in merchandise planning at a leading global fashion company, applying that expertise to bring vision, structure, and insight to every project. Yet throughout it all, one truth remained: she was meant to create something of her own. Aura Marie Swim is the natural evolution of that calling.
A self-described student of the world, Marisa Marie draws inspiration from everywhere—art, culture, travel, architecture, and the people she meets along the way. Her philosophy is simple: the most beautiful thing you can be is your most authentic self. Aura Marie was created to honor that truth.
